Are you looking for a lock where you don’t have to worry about losing or forgetting your keys?

Do you want the convenience of not having to dig for a set of keys to open your front door?

Do you like the idea of just punching in a code and having your door open for you?

.

I am guessing you answered “Yes” to all three of those questions but I have one more to ask you…

.

Is the security of your family and home important to you or are you just looking for convenience?

.

If you want convenience then I recommend you take a serious look at the Schlage Camelot keypad deadbolt. This lock is a good all-around choice and will provide years of dependable service.

If you want convenience AND security you need to know about the Sunnect AP501 electronic deadbolt. What makes the Sunnect lock unique is the fact that this keyless lock is truly keyless using either an electronic key tag or a handy illuminated keypad! You won’t find a keyhole on this lock which brings me back to my question about security…

Please don’t be fooled by the run-of-the-mill keypad locks thinking you are getting more protection than you would with a traditional lock.

You see, these so-called “keyless locks” actually do have a key that you use as a backup in case of lock problems. A key means a keyhole and a keyhole means you are vulnerable.

.

Keyholes – The 3 Deadly Flaws…

A vandal can easily jam a toothpick, dirt, sand or super glue into your lock rendering it inoperable. This happens more often than you might think as there seems to be no shortage of people out to make other’s lives miserable.

Keyholes are the gateway to your home for a thief that is skilled in lock picking. Got a “pick resistant” lock? That just means it will take them a little longer to open it.

The scariest flaw is the fact that you don’t even need to know how to pick a lock to open more than 90% of all home doors in the country.

Thanks to the Internet anyone can search for “lock bumping” and find more than enough information to make a bump key and there is no shortage of videos that show you how to bump a lock.

I think the video that was most disturbing during my research was the one where a child opened the front door to a house in seconds. Just take a look:

.

I don’t know about you but I didn’t like the feeling that a kid could get into my house with very little effort!!!

.

OK, back to the Sunncet AP501…

This lock has proven itself over and over as being the lock to beat when it comes to keyless locks and not only has it received praise from lock industry professionals but also lay people as well:

.

After testing the AP501 on their own homes for 2 months, the independent testers of the Handyman Club of America give a big thumbs-up to the Sunnect AP501!

LAS VEGAS, NV – January 19, 2010: Sunnect announced today at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas that its AP501 Advanced Protection digital door lock was field-tested by the Handyman Club of America and received a 100% approval rating from the testers.

The testers picked the auto lock feature as the best feature of the lock followed by keyless entry and one-touch digital key. The auto lock feature automatically locks the door every time the door is closed. It can be optionally switched off and it never locks the door while the door remains open.

Some of the comments from the testers include:

“I have installed at least 20 deadbolts in my time and know high-end products when I see one and the Sunnect AP501 Advanced Protection Digital Door Lock is the best I’ve seen.”

“Well constructed, beautiful looking!”

“I would highly recommend this very stylish extremely well built keyless lock to my fellow contractors and handy man readers”

“The quality, fit and finish is second to none.”

“Extremely easy to install, replacing my original existing deadbolt. The directions were well written and with the illustrations easy to follow.”

“I have looked at other brands of digital deadbolts and this is by far the finest digital deadbolt on the market at any price.”
